Highly recommend. The service was incredible, and their attention to each customer was outstanding. Such a unique dining experience. The food was delightful, and each piece of the menu was curated to perfection. The wine pairing was exceptional and the explanation behind each pairing was appreciated. The Michelin Star is beyond deserved, and I feel honored to have spent the evening with Tatsu Dallas!

As one of Dallas' only Michelin starred restaurants, Tatsu Dallas offers one of the city's best dining experiences. Set in the ground floor of the newly renovated Continental Gin Building (approach on Elm Street and drive through the gate to access surface level parking - Tatsu is on the right side of the building), this omakase experience allows you to enjoy a 14 course dinner of exceptionally crafted sushi in an elegant and minimalist setting. Sekiguchi-san is a master of his craft and you truly appreciate the craftsmanship behind each dish. The fish here is of exceptional quality (largely sourced from abroad) and the preparation and seasoning is perfect. Bites land perfectly on your plate at a rapid cadence, and each seems to taste better than the last. Service as you would expect is warm, knowledgeable and highly attentive given the limited counter style seating. Note that given the limited seats and Michelin starred status, Tatsu is by far one of Dallas' most difficult reservations to secure. A fair amount of persistence will be required to dine here, but it is more than worth the hype. Budget approximately $250/pp.

Finally tried Tatsu Dallas — the Michelin star omakase spot. Reservation only, clean modern space, beautiful presentation. Chef Tatsuya Sekiguchi’s omakase had about 14 pieces of nigiri plus appetizers, miso soup, tamago, kanpyo maki, and dairy free ice cream. Fish is sourced from all over Japan and Spain. The bluefin akami and toro were solid, and the kuruma ebi was nice. But honestly? For a Michelin star spot, the overall experience lacked that wow factor. Everything was good but nothing really blew me away. I might be biased since I’ve had omakase in Tokyo and Osaka, so my bar is probably unfairly high. That said, it’s still one of the better sushi experiences in Dallas and probably worth trying at least once.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

The evening started off with a glass of sake while we waited to be seated inside. Once inside, we were mesmerized with each course. The sushi here is extremely fresh and there's honestly no better sushi or sashimi in Dallas than Tatsu. Even the courses where we didn't expect much had us intrigued and fascinated. We were so impressed with each and every course, we ordered a few more afterwards. Even the sweet potato ice cream was unexpectedly good. Everything was unbelievably fresh and beyond delicious, there's just no comparison in Dallas. Pictures of every item we had are attached but it genuinely does not do justice for how good this place is. I think this is the only place i ever gave 5 stars for every category, and it really is well deserved. The service was amazing, not just the wait staff but especially the chef. They made us feel welcome and explained each course with detail. The interior is simple yet chic, fitting for an omakase experience. Even the bathroom was well decorated and super clean. Getting a reservation required me to refresh their website every second at 8am to make sure i can reserve the date and time i wanted, and good thing i did because every time slot w

Amazing food and unique experience. Omakase at its best. Chef Tatsuya Sekiguchi puts such care and respect into every piece of food he touches - the result is a delicious bite with every course served. The staff is equally in-tune, anticipating any request you might have as the evening progresses. As for the setting - a lovely living room waiting area, feels like you are joining a party at someone’s home. Then you move into the kitchen, where you are invited to sit, with a front row seat as Chef creates a tasting masterpiece. Make it a priority to experience this, 2 year running, first in Dallas Michelin Star gem.
